Cornhole Session 2 Standings
As-Of 7/26/24
Friends of Peter Igo Park, the 501(c)3 non-profit run by volunteers, is excited to announce the Park’s first Cornhole Leagues!
Cornhole Leagues rules and overview:
The league will follow the official rules of the American Cornhole Association (click here for the rules)
There will be two separate 8 week seasonal leagues this season: one running from May 6th - July 2nd (no play on Memorial Day week 5/27 or 5/28) and one running July 8th - August 27th.
League play will be on the Park’s two bocce courts on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
There will be two start times/night: 6 pm and 7 pm
Each team will play on one of the nights, at one of the times. Exact schedule to be determined and matches will be determined randomly before the start of each seasonal league (as a result, some teams may not play each other and some teams will compete agains each other more than once).
Each team will play 2 matches per night.
Scoring is “netted.” For example, if Team A scores 5 points in an inning and Team B scores 3 points, then Team A wins that inning and scores a net score of 2 points.
The first team to score 21 points wins.
Each match lasts 20 minutes. Whichever team is winning after 20 minutes is the winner, regardless of the score.
Teams playing in the 1st seasonal league will have the first chance to register for the 2nd seasonal league before it’s opened up to the public on June 11th.
In case of rain, teams will be responsible for rescheduling matches sometime before the end of the seasonal league.
Excellent prizes (to be determined) will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd placed teams at the end of each seasonal league.
A 2024 Cornhole Championship Competition will be scheduled at the end of the season. Teams that registered in either of the seasonal league will be given the first opportunity to register for the Championship Competition. Details to follow.
$50/person per league. Payment to be made per team ($100) per team. Note $20 of each person’s payment is paid to the Marshfield Recreation Department, the remaining $30 goes to Friends of Peter Igo Park.
